Itinerary

Day by Day

1
Day 1

Arrive at Kilimanjaro International Airport

Welcome to Tanzania! As you step off the plane at Kilimanjaro International Airport (JRO), you’ll be warmly greeted by your professional guide, from here, you’ll enjoy a scenic drive to your Lodge in Arusha. Once you’ve settled in your professional guide will take time to walk you through the safari ahead, ensuring you’re comfortable and well prepared for the journey. The rest of the day is yours – take it slow, settle in, and just enjoy being here.

2
Day 2

Footprints & Roots in Arusha National Park

Your day begins with a relaxed breakfast at the lodge, fueling up as the local birdlife begins its chorus in the crisp mountain air. Afterward, you will head toward the emerald slopes of Mount Meru to enter Arusha National Park. The morning is dedicated to a gentle, guided walk through the park. This pace is perfect for all ages – all you need are comfortable walking shoes to enjoy the sights of giraffes and zebras from a grounded perspective. Following your walk, a short drive brings you to a hidden waterfall for a private picnic lunch. Served in total seclusion, this setting allows you to sit by the cascading water and forest pools, simply being present in the stillness of the space. In the late afternoon, as the light begins to soften into a golden glow, you will gather for a tree-planting session. This quiet, meditative act grounds your day’s experience, leaving a permanent, positive mark on the Arusha ecosystem before you return to the lodge for a restful dinner under the stars.

Day 3

A Drive from Arusha to Little Chemchem Lodge – Into a Secluded Private Wildlife Corridor

Leaving the lush, green slopes of Arusha with Mount Meru watching over your shoulder, the air quickly turns crisp and dry as the landscape opens up into a semi-arid expanse. It’s a fascinating transition to watch. You’re essentially driving into the wild ecosystem that defines Tarangire National Park, Little Chemchem private concession and Kwakuchinja wildlife corridor. Upon arriving from Arusha, settle into the vintage-style tents and enjoy a relaxed introduction to the Burunge Wildlife Management Area. Upon arrival, lunch will be served overlooking the watering hole, followed by a briefing on the conservation efforts in the corridor. Take a gentle late afternoon drive to the shores of Lake Burunge to watch the sunset with drinks and appetizers, sometimes surrounded by flamingos or pelicans. Before returning to the lodge after dark, you’ll have a night game drive using spotlights to uncover the bush's nocturnal side. It is a rare chance to see the landscape’s more elusive residents come to life – from foraging aardvarks and civets to lions beginning their nightly hunt.

After a long day, return to the lodge’s private concession ready for enjoying dinner under the stars.

Day 5

Walk, Culture and Sundowners Experience

The third morning takes you deeper into the heart of the community with a visit to a local Maasai village. Here, you’ll have the rare opportunity to sit with the Chief, listening to the oral histories and ancient tales that have defined the Maasai way of life for generations. After this cultural immersion, return to the lodge for a relaxed hot lunch before the pace slows for your final afternoon. End the day with a gentle evening walk toward the shores of Lake Burunge, arriving just as the light turns golden for a private sundowner. It’s a perfect, quiet moment to reflect on the landscape and its people before the journey concludes.

Day 6

Singita Grumeti Game Reserve

After your final morning in the corridor, you'll head to Manyara Airstrip for a scenic 90-minute flight across the Great Rift Valley to the Grumeti Game Reserve. You’ll arrive just in time for a hot lunch at the lodge, overlooking the vast, golden plains that stretch toward the horizon. After settling in, the late afternoon is yours to begin exploring this exclusive wilderness on a game drive, catching your first glimpse of the wildlife.

Day 7

Singita Grumeti Game Reserve

This day is all about soaking in the raw beauty of the reserve and the incredible wildlife that calls it home. You’ll head out at first light with a packed breakfast to catch the animals while the air is still cool, returning to Singita Sasakwa for a hot lunch once the day warms up. The afternoon is yours to enjoy the lodge's pace – whether you want to stay active with a game of tennis or a session in the gym, or just slow down with a massage or some indoor games. As the shadows start to stretch, you’ll head back out for an afternoon game drive, eventually finding a scenic spot to stop for a special sundowner as the vast horizon begins to glow.

Day 8

Singita Grumeti Game Reserve

The morning begins with a fresh perspective on the landscape. You'll head out for an early drive as the light hits the plains, but this time, you’ll head back to the lodge for a hot breakfast on the deck view. The middle of the day is dedicated to the heart of this wilderness: a visit to the Grumeti Fund. It’s a chance to sit down and hear the real stories behind the conservation efforts that keep this private concession thriving. You'll learn how they protect the wildlife and the land, giving a much deeper meaning to every animal you've spotted, and later drive back to the lodge for hot lunch. After lunch and some quiet time at the lodge, you’ll head out for one last afternoon game drive, eventually pulling over for a special sundowner to toast to your final evening under the vast Serengeti sky.
