Beneath the towering presence of Mount Kilimanjaro and Mount Meru, a love for the wild took root in the hearts of our grandparents.
They were born amidst the flourishing wildlife and wildlands of Tanzania , their connection to nature was not a choice, it was destiny.
These delicate ecosystems became their playgrounds, but they had to deeply respect them, and that respect became a cornerstone of their lives. Their passion, a fire passed down through generations, ignited a spark in us, their grandchildren.
We grew up listening to their tales around the fireplace, their voices filled with awe and a deep concern for the land and wildlife. Game reserves and national parks became our own havens, where childhood adventures were woven with the whispers of the wind and the calls of exotic birds.
Witnessing the changes in the ecosystem, the increasing threats to wildlife, fueled a burning desire to change the state. We knew we had to carry the torch our grandparents lit, to ensure these wonders survived for generations after us.
And with no option, knowledge became power. We enrolled ourselves at the best College of African Wildlife Management, immersing ourselves in the science of conservation in African ecosystems.
Determined to make a difference, we later joined the Tanzania Wildlife Research Institute (TAWIRI). Here, alongside dedicated researchers, we witnessed firsthand the challenges and triumphs of protecting wildlife. This experience solidified our resolve and carved a way to share our passion with a wider audience.
So we transitioned into the world of tourism, fortunate enough to gain experience with very high-end travel companies in Africa. These years honed our skills in creating unforgettable safari experiences, while also exposing us to the power of responsible tourism.
It was with love of Nature, Passion, Knowledge, Experience and a burning desire to make a difference that Salei Plains | Conservation Safaris was born.
