10 Days / 9 Nights
A 10-day journey through Tanzania led by women, for women , reconnecting with nature, community, and the strength of the women who shape this land.
Day by Day
Arriving in Kilimanjaro International Airport
Welcome in Tanzania. A purposeful beginning: your arrival at Kilimanjaro International Airport is marked by a warm welcome from your professional female guide, who will be your expert navigator throughout the trip. You’ll be driven to a boutique, woman-owned lodge in Arusha, a sanctuary where every detail reflects local female craftsmanship. The evening is yours to settle in and enjoy a welcome dinner prepared with ingredients from the lodge’s organic garden.
Walking to Reconnect and Restore
The day begins in the cool morning air on the edge of Arusha National Park, where forest and community landscapes meet. Led by a female ranger, you set out on foot along quiet trails through woodland and open clearings. The pace is unhurried, allowing space to reconnect, with the land, with the rhythm of walking, and with the perspective of women working closely with nature. As the morning deepens, the path leads to a secluded waterfall hidden within the forest. Here, you pause for a relaxed lunch beside flowing water, surrounded by shade and stillness. It is a moment to rest and reflect, where the presence of the forest invites a deeper sense of connection. In the afternoon, you visit a women-led tree-planting project, where restoration becomes tangible. Together with the women, you take part in planting trees, contributing in a small but meaningful way to the future of the landscape. It is a shared experience that connects people, habitat and purpose. As the day draws to a close, you return not only having explored the environment, but having contributed to it, carrying with you a deeper sense of connection and renewal.
Breaking Bread
You’ll drive toward the green hills of Karatu. The highlight of the day is a visit with a group of elderly women in the community. Together, you prepare and share a meal, listening to their stories and the wisdom shaped by years of living close to the land. It is a deeply human experience, one of respect, presence, and connection across generations.
Ngorongoro Crater – The Natural Wonder of the World Heritage Site
We spend the whole day down in the crater, exploring the caldera floor which holds the highest density of wildlife in Africa. A private lunch will be set up for you on the crater floor, allowing you to soak in the majesty of this UNESCO World Heritage site in peace. Later, you will head back to the highlands of Karatu to relax and overnight.
Salei Plains
Leaving the highlands, you travel through the dramatic landscapes of the Ngorongoro Highlands, before descending into the open, remote expanse of Salei Plains. The journey itself reveals a shift in landscape from green, elevated terrain to vast drylands shaped by space and light. On arrival at our Salei Plains conservation camp, you’ll be welcomed by Maasai women in their own environment. As the sun begins to set over the plains, you gather with them for an exchange of stories, song, and dance. In this shared moment, they offer insight into their lives , what it means to lead, live, and thrive as Maasai women.
Walking with the Maasai Woman
The following day begins on foot, led by a Maasai woman who guides you through her landscape and way of life. Walking at an unhurried pace, you move through the plains and homestead areas, gaining a closer understanding of how daily life is lived in this environment. As the morning unfolds, you are invited to spend time with the women, taking part in simple daily activities , whether it is beadwork, tending to the homestead, or sharing conversation. It is not about observation alone, but participation and presence, offering a deeper connection to both people and place.
Serengeti – Into the Endless Plains
The journey continues into the Serengeti National Park with a game drive en route. Your female professional guide will focus on the intimate details of the ecosystem, pointing out the resident wildlife and the interconnectedness of this vast landscape. You’ll arrive in the evening at your tented camp where the management team is led by women, ensuring a warm and thoughtful welcome.
Full Day in Serengeti
A full day of game drives across the Serengeti , from the rocky kopjes where lions sun themselves to the riverbanks where hippos wallow, you’ll witness the raw power of nature. It’s a day of cinematic landscapes and incredible wildlife sightings, with a packed lunch enjoyed under the shade of a lone flat-top acacia.
Last Day in Serengeti
The morning and evening are dedicated to game drives, but the heart of the day takes place back at camp. Before lunch, you’ll meet with a female ranger from the anti-poaching unit. She will share a candid discussion about her contribution to protecting the Serengeti, the challenges she faces as a woman in a male-dominated field, and the vital role women play on the front lines of conservation.
Say Goodbye to Serengeti
After a final sunrise on the plains and a beautiful breakfast outside the camp while enjoying the view of the plains, you’ll drive to Seronera Airstrip to catch a domestic flight to Arusha. In Arusha, you’ll enjoy a hot lunch with our Guest Relations Manager to share highlights of your experiences, and later, you continue by road to Kilimanjaro International Airport for your international departure, concluding your journey of reconnect and restore while carrying with you the spirit, stories, and strength of the women of Tanzania.
